Burton's Cattle Bridge finally being repaired after seven-month closure

Work has now started on repairing a rotting Burton bridge which has been closed for seven months and targeted by vandals.
The little-known Cattle Bridge was temporarily shut for safety reasons after its rotting wooden floor planks were becoming a danger for walkers.
Now, the planks are finally being removed and will be replaced in a project which is set to last four weeks.
In the meantime, East Staffordshire Borough Council has been pleading with members of the public to report any vandalism they may witness at the footbridge .
