Birmingham’s chip shop queen Artemis Pili dies aged 100

The much loved fish and chip shop queen of Birmingham has died.
Artemis Pili ran a number of shops around the city and was a favourite with many Brummies - including bus drivers who would stop in for some chips on their route.
The great-grandma celebrated her 100th birthday in February.
Her son Michael Pili announced the sad news on Twitter earlier this week,
He said: “My mom passed away on Wednesday age 100 and 4 months.”
The amazing woman lived through the Blitz, ran a number of shops, and worked as a safety road crossing lady for a number of years during her remarkable life.
