Bid to repair historic Gwalchmai war memorial gets £5,000 boost
 

An effort to bring a community war memorial back to its former glory has been given a substantial boost.
On Tuesday, representatives from the Bodorgan Estate in south Anglesey handed over a cheque worth £5,000 to the Trewalchmai Community Council.
The money will be used to help restore Gwalchmai war memorial which has been a focal point in the village for almost 90 years.
The monument, which also contains a clock dial, commemorates the 30 young men from the parish who sacrificed their lives during the First World War, and latterly the nine men who died during the Second World War.
