Baby boy becomes tiniest in the world to have successful heart surgery
 

A baby weighing slightly more than 1lb has become the smallest in the world to undergo successful heart surgery.
Born at just 28 weeks in a hospital in Udaipur, western India, the little baby has not yet been given a name.
He is too fragile to touch, his eyes have not opened, his lungs are not yet developed and his skin looks like it is made from parchment paper.
But a team of doctors from the Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital and Jeevanta Hospital had to perform risky surgery to separate his aorta and pulmonary artery, two major blood vessels of the heart which were stuck together.... read more
