'Aston Villa totally disapprove' - Strong message sent after Birmingham City pitch attack



Aston Villa have issued a strong statement in the wake of the pitch attack on Jack Grealish at St Andrew’s last weekend.
Grealish, the Villa captain, was punched on the pitch during Sunday’s derby clash before he went on to score the winner.
Birmingham City fan Paul Mitchell attacked the 23-year-old and was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to assault and invading the pitch.
And ahead of Saturday’s home match against Middlesbrough, Villa’s CEO Christian Purslow and the club’s head of security Keith Wiseman have issued a joint statement.
