Apple chief designer officer Jony Ive awarded prestigious Professor Hawking Fellowship
 

Apple’s British chief design officer has been awarded a fellowship founded in honour of the late Professor Stephen Hawking.
Sir Jonathan ‘Jony’ Ive is the second person to receive the Professor Hawking Fellowship, which celebrates excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Jony, who was born in Chingford, East London, joined Apple in 1992 and worked with its legendary founder Steve Jobs to create the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad and MacBook.
He is named on more than 5,000 patents and has won numerous design awards.
