Amazon 'interested' by proposals to reopen historic railway line to passengers



Online retail giant Amazon says it is "interested" by the potential plans to reopen a historic railway line into Burton to passengers.
The firm has said the possibility of reopening a line to trains between Leicester and Burton could benefit its staff at one of its Midlands depot.
There is a major Amazon centre near where the line runs in the North West Leicestershire town of Coalville.
A spokesman from Amazon said: "We're aware of the proposal and would obviously be interested in potential alternative commuting opportunities for our Coalville team."
