Alastair Cook swaps World Cup for warm up



WHILE the Cricket World Cup semi-finals were raging, Alastair Cook was fielding at slip for Essex in a warm-up game against Worcestershire at chilly Chelmsford.
Cook had played like Bradman in the Ashes, and was undoubtedly the hottest bastman on the planet after innings of 235, 148 and 189, which were not exactly scored at a snail"s pace.
Yet England reckoned he was not good enough for their one-day team and allowed Cook to spend the last three months relaxing on his girlfriend"s family sheep farm.
Baa humbug.
