Abused dog found with mouth taped shut becomes police pooch
 

An abused dog found with its mouth taped shut has become an honorary police deputy.
The one-year-old dog named Chance was ‘unofficially’ adopted by Lee County, Florida Sheriff Carmine Marceno, who deputized the pup on Thursday.
Chance, now ‘Deputy Chance,’ will serve a ‘spokesdog’ for the department’s Pets on Patrol division as soon as he recovers from his injuries.
Authorities found Chance wandering alone with his muzzle bound by electrical tape on February 26.
He was dehydrated, looked to be malnourished, and was bleeding from wounds on his chest and left arm, authorities said.
