4 Leicester primary schools want to break away from council control in academy plan



Four Leicester primary schools are looking to break away from council control by becoming academies.
Parents have been consulted on plans to form a new multi-academy trust called the Attenborough Learning Trust (ALT) – which would manage Green Lane Primary School, Highfields Primary School, Sparkenhoe Community Primary School and Uplands Infant School.
At the moment the schools, which have more than 1,600 pupils from the Highfields and Spinney Hills area, are under the control of the local education authority.
