North East Lincolnshire achieved improvement GCSE results in maths and English this year.
Provisional figures released this morning show 54.8 per cent of pupils in North East Lincolnshire got at least a C grade in English and maths.
This was below the national average of 58.7 per cent.
The Government has changed the benchmark for the league tables this year. Whilst previously, schools were ranked on the number of pupils achieving five or more GCSEs at grade A*-C including English and maths, this year they are ranked on achieving at least a C grade in English and maths.
