You'll still need your round £1 coins even AFTER they stop being legal tender



We’re just a week away from the round pound coin going out of circulation, meaning we will no longer be able to spend them.
On Sunday, October 15 those who those who find themselves still in possession of any round pounds are advised to head to their bank, building society or a Post Office branch to have them swapped.
But the round pounds will still be needed for some supermarket trolleys - with Sainsbury’s and Tesco both admitting they haven’t got around to modifying theirs yet, some six months after the new 12-sided coin was introduced.
