York City boss Jackie McNamara made to pay £500 fine after dodging train fare between Edinburgh and York   



York City boss Jackie McNamara is the latest manager to make headlines for the wrong reasons as he has been convicted of travelling without a valid train ticket.
The 42-year-old former Celtic defender will now have to pay almost £500 in fines and court fees after pleading guilty to the charge. 
McNamara failed to purchase an £86 train ticket as he travelled between Edinburgh and York on April 11. 
He will now have to pay a £250 fine, £30 statutory surcharge and £130 prosecution costs after trying to travel without a ticket.
