York City appoint Jackie McNamara as chief executive just days after being sacked as manager... while Gary Mills takes in Bootham Crescent dugout



York City have appointed Jackie McNamara as chief executive with 'immediate effect' just days after sacking him as first-team manager.
McNamara's move upstairs to the boardroom - and newly-created position - comes after ex-Wrexham boss Gary Mills took over as manager of the Conference club for the second time.
Sportsmail understands, however, that McNamara will partly be responsible for controlling the club's playing budget.
