World's most notorious migrant smuggler on the run as police mobilise to hunt him down
 

Ermias Ghermay, an Ethiopian who is believed to be in his early forties, has lined his pockets controlling the migrant trade across Africa.
He controls warehouses full of migrants in the coastal town where he registers each one with a unique number to keep track of his lucrative stock and buys migrants off other smugglers to boost his trade.
He is so underground, police have no images of him. All officers have is an artist's impression, made up of descriptions of the elusive hardman. Another Libyan official said he "dresses inconspicuously in jeans and a T-shirt".
