World Cup-winning former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw helps New Zealand earthquake rescue efforts by piloting helicopter missions

All Blacks legend Richie McCaw has taken to the skies to play a central role in rescue efforts following the deadly earthquake that struck New Zealand on Monday.
The double World Cup winner is now a commercial helicopter pilot and flew rescue and reconnaissance mission to Kaikoura, a town on the South Island coast which bore the brunt of the devastation.
McCaw was woken in his Christchurch home by the powerful 7.8 quake in the early hours of Monday morning and sprung into action to shuttle rescue workers by chopper to the worst-affected areas.
