Woman given day's prison sentence after dumping sofa outside St Ann's home
A woman spent nearly eight hours in custody for dumping a sofa on the pavement outside her home in St Ann's.
Patricia Blair, 51, had been arrested on a warrant after legal action by Nottingham City Council, a court heard.
She was given one day's detention after admitting depositing controlled waste on December 29.
Magistrates "deemed this spent" - in other words, that she'd already served this time - after hearing that she was detained at 8.20am on Tuesday and freed at 4pm that day.
