Witness to A500 fatal crash thought 'bomb had gone off'



MOTORIST Anthea Howell has told a jury she thought a bomb had gone off when another car lost control and crashed on the A500.
She was giving evidence in the trial of Nathan Confrey who is accused of killing dad-of-four Nathan Smallwood by dangerous driving on the D-Road at Etruria at 11.50pm on December 13, 2014.
The 33-year-old is also charged with causing death by careless driving and causing serious injury to Mr Smallwood's wife, Deborah, by dangerous driving.
