Why were there fireworks in Newcastle city centre on Sunday night?



A huge fire work display in Newcastle City Centre on Sunday evening left many people asking what was going on?
With more than a month until Bonfire Night, onlookers were left puzzled by the 10 minute spectacular near St James’ Park at around 8pm
The fireworks were planned to mark the closing of the student welcome to the city and were organised by the city’s Business Improvement District, Newcastle NE1.
Last week was the International Welcome Weeks of Newcastle University , Northumbria University and Newcastle College.
