Why were drones soaring above Newcastle's Tyne Bridge?

If you’ve crossed Newcastle’s most iconic bridge in the past couple of days, you may have spotted something unusual in the sky.
The road and footpath across the Tyne Bridge remained open while drones scanned the structure this Tuesday and Wednesday.
Newcastle City Council has explained the use of drones to carry out the work has saved the city both time and money.
