'Why Newcastle Odeon should not be demolished' - What do you think?
 

Work is due to begin on the demolition of Newcastle Odeon next month.
The cinema, on the city’s Pilgrim Street, attracted generations of filmgoers.
Opened in 1931 as the Paramount, and changing its name to the Odeon in 1939, it closed its doors in 2002.
Now, after standing empty for 14 years, the bulldozers are due to move in on the building and the area will become part of a new city retail quarter.
The decision has not been universally well-received.
