Why employers and governments should encourage people to holiday: Study shows experiences make people happier than material items

A leading psychology professor is calling on governments and employers to make it easier for people to enjoy new experiences, because they make them far happier than material possessions.
Thomas Gilovich, a professor of Psychology at Cornell University, believes that in order for people to become happier, they need to spend their money on holidays, trips to the theatre and walks in the park, instead of new cars and items of clothing.
