Where is the happiest place in the North East - and where is the saddest?
 

Northumbrians are the happiest people in the North East - and that’s official.
People in the border county rated their happiness at an average level of 7.6 out of 10 in the 2015/16 edition of a new government well-being survey.
By comparison, Newcastle’s residents were the least happy giving an average rating of just 7.1 out of 10.
The rest of the North East all rated their happiness at a level of 7.3 out of 10, however County Durham’s residents were the only ones who were less happy than they were in 2014/15, when they ranked their happiness as 7.4 out of 10.
