When is Diwali in 2016?



The ancient festival of Diwali has been celebrated every autumn for thousands of years.
It symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil and is observed on the new moon that starts the month of Kartika in the Hindu calendar.
This year it is on Sunday, October 30, but celebrations often begin on the two days before and carry on until two days afterwards.
