When do the old £1 coins go out of circulation and how long have I got to spend them?



Brits are being urged to spend or donate their round pounds before they cease to be legal tender.
Epilepsy Action, Rainbow Trust Children's Charity and type 1 diabetes organisation JDRF are inviting the public to donate their old round pounds for research and funding purposes.
The old coin was replaced by the 12-sided £1 back in March, and since then the two have been in co-circulation.
However, after the deadline has passed the round pound will lose its value.
