What is haemophilia and how is it treated?
 

Haemophilia is a rare blood disorder that means the blood fails to clot properly, resulting in minor injuries like a bruise or a small cut becoming much more serious or sometimes fatal.
The knowledge behind the genetic disorder has advanced ten-fold in the last 30 years, when many people would never have known they had it and could have died as a result.
Haemophilia mainly effects males as the gene for blood clotting is located on the X chromosome.
