What happens to your old coins, £5 and £10 notes?



Like the £1 coin and £5 note, the countdown is on to spend your old style £10 notes.
On Thursday, March 1, the paper £10 note will be withdrawn from circulation and will cease to be legal tender - meaning it will not be accepted as a form of payment.
The old £5 note went out of circulation on Friday, May 5 2017 and the old £1 coin ceased to be legal tender on Sunday, October 15 , 2017.
But what happens to our old notes and coins?
