What happened to the pension contributions I paid more than 40 years ago? TONY HETHERINGTON replies



Mrs P.M. writes: I retired in May 2015. While sorting through old documents, I came across a 1968 letter confirming the offer of a job with insurance broker Bain in Leeds. 
The letter says I would be required to join the company’s contributory pension scheme. I did so, and worked there until the end of 1974. I am now 68. 
I would be interested to know what happened to my pension contributions.
