Welsh conservation groups demand reform of 'broken' farm payments system
 

Fifteen conservation groups in Wales have written the Welsh Government demanding reform of farming policy in favour of the environment.
They claimed the existing agri-support system had “failed to deliver” and insisted Brexit was a unique opportunity to redesign a policy that chimes with the country’s sustainability goals.
The coalition of wildlife, landscape, forestry and fishing groups is lobbying for a larger slice of farm support funds to be allocated to the environment.
