We need to act on Scottish Youth Parliament bullying claims before young people are put off politics

Allegations of bullying and harassment at the Scottish Youth Parliament are extremely worrying.
Numerous MSYPs have resigned in recent weeks as ugly claims and counter-claims of intimidation have surfaced on social media.
Several have even claimed that the parliament – funded with £421,285 of public cash a year – is shutting out debate.
It’s all very unedifying and not at all what was imagined when the valuable institution was set up in 1999.
