'We must honour this great son of Lincoln'



Many readers will have been saddened to learn on Sunday of the death at 92 of Sir Neville Marriner, writes David MacNaughton in a letter to The Echo.
He was truly one of Lincoln's great sons.
Taught by his father, he was 12 when he won the open violin class at the Lincoln Music Festival. While at school he played in the second violins of the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra.
