Watford 0 - Stoke 1: Gomes' own goal ensures Potters move into top ten



The Hornets came into the game off the back of a 2-1 win over Premier League champions Leicester and knew a win here would have saw them leapfrog Manchester United and go 6th, but it was jubilation for Stoke in the end, who made amends for their dissapointing home defeat to Bournemouth last weekend. 
Mark Hughes' side deserved the win and the crucial goal came after 29 minutes when - after a host of previous chances - Gomes put the ball in his own net. 
Xherdan Shaqiri swung in a teasing ball from a corner kick and Adam rose highest to plant a header towards the bottom corner.
