Watchdog endorses choice of 1st deputy police commissioner but has 'conflict of interest' concerns

The watchdog that holds Leicestershire's police and crime commissioner Lord Willy Bach to account has endorsed his choice of deputy.
The police and crime panel says it backs Lord Bach's choice of Labour Leicester assistant mayor councillor Kirk Master as his number two.
However in a letter to the Labour PCC, panel chairman Joe Orson has expressed concern that Coun Master will keep his city council portfolio for neighbourhood services.
The letter follows a session last month where panel members questioned both Lord Bach and Coun Master on his suitability for the role.
