Watch: Tree Festival held to oppose felling plans for historic churchyard
 

Campaigners are hoping today’s Tree Festival will persuade council bosses not cut down mature and healthy limes in a Leicester churchyard.
Morris dancers, musicians, historians and poets gathered at St George’s church in the city’s Cultural Quarter to celebrate the 21 trees Leicester Council has earmarked for felling.
The council says the churchyard is a dark and threatening area which it wants to make more welcoming to the public.
