Washing fleeces and synthetic fabric damages the world's oceans more than plastic bottles, according to a new report. 
The report, backed by fashion designer Stella McCartney, suggests clothes need to be worn for longer.
Along with record-breaking sailor Ellen MacArthur, McCartney is calling for an end to fashion's throwaway culture amid claims we will end up 'eating our own clothes' due to vast quantities of microfibres pouring into the ocean.
