Was summer 2017 hotter, wetter or sunnier than normal? These are the stats



It’s been a wetter than average summer in the North East (but you probably could have guessed that).
But did you know it’s actually been sunnier and ever so slightly warmer than most summers we’ve had in the last 30 years?
The Met Office has pulled together the stats for summer 2017’s weather, and compared them to the latest 30 year average, which is calculated from the period between 1980 and 2010.
