Visitor who passed Spice to prisoner at HMP Northumberland joins him behind bars
 

A prison visitor caught trying to smuggle former legal high “spice” into a North East prison has been put behind bars.
Ashley Lawson handed over the banned substance to an inmate at HMP Northumberland during a visit.
But officials spotted the hand over and intervened and the prisoner was searched.
Newcastle Crown Court he was found with two parcels, containing spice and other banned items, which included 56 diazepam tablets.
Now Lawson, of Throckley, Newcastle, has been locked up for five months.
