Virgin trains staff to strike as 200 job cuts loom



WORKERS on the recently privatised Virgin East Coast service will walk out for 24 hours over plans to axe up to 200 jobs.
Members of the RMT union will strike on October 3.
The company has announced plans for a “customer-centric revolution” involving “making changes to customer-facing roles which will see a single person take responsibility for the customer experience.”
The company omitted to say that the revolution also involves getting rid of up to 200 workers.
