Virgin Trains East Coast staff strike goes ahead on Monday as last ditch talks fail
 

Last ditch talks to prevent a 24 hour strike going ahead on Monday by staff working for Virgin Trains East Coast have failed.
The long running dispute between members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union and the rail company is over a threat to jobs, working conditions and safety.
Staff have been instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between 0001 and 2359 hours on Monday.
Virgin Trains has said previously it would be running a full timetable during the strike.
