Victory for 'people power' in police station campaign



Police are to restore their presence in an East Yorkshire town after residents campaigned desperately over rising crime levels.
Hedon Police Station will be brought back into service on Wednesdays and Fridays from April.
It comes after 2,200 people in the town signed a petition about the matter, which was spearheaded by town councillor Di Storr.
After months of discussions between Cllr Storr and assistant chief constable of Humberside Police, Scott Young, it was decided that station, in New Road, would reopen again.
