Victoria Park revamp slips £240,00 over budget



A scheme to develop a new processional walk to the war memorial in Leicester's Victoria Park has slipped hundreds of thousands of pounds over budget.
Work is under way to create a new tree-lined avenue linking the arch, designed by renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, to the ornate park gates on London Road.
However "unforeseen" circumstances have forced the city council to divert an extra £240,000 into the project taking its total cost up to £2.1 million.
