Venezuela: 3m homes in 3 years, says Maduro



VENEZUELA will invest $95 billion (£77bn) in housing construction as part of its plans to deliver three million new homes over the next three years, President Nicolas Maduro has announced.
Mr Maduro told the UN’s Habitat III housing summit in Quito, Ecuador, that his country had already built 1.6 million of the homes and granted them to families at heavily subsidised prices — or even in some cases for free.
A massive house renovation and urban rehabilitation project is linked to the country’s “great housing mission” and is expected to provide a further six million decent homes.
