A unique piece of Nottingham's textile history could leave the city for good when it goes under the hammer next month, writes Nigel Kirk.
An outstanding Nottingham lace panel that won a Special Award at the Vienna International Exposition in 1873 is about to go on view at The Auction House.
Although described as 'Curtain Lace', the huge piece was made specifically to show just what the Nottingham lace industry was capable of at the height of its success.
