US to send more troops to help reclaim Mosul from Isis



US PRESIDENT Barack Obama is preparing to send more troops to Iraq to help reclaim the city of Mosul from Islamic State (Isis), officials yesterday confirmed.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that the extra troops would “provide support for security forces and the Iraqi heroes in the fight looming in the liberation of Mosul.”
He said that Mr Obama had approved his government’s request for more troops, on top of the roughly 4,600 currently stationed in Iraq.
