US election: Eight things you miss as an American abroad
 

I often joke about how thrilled I am to be outside of the United States during this chaotic time.
But there are a few aspects of election season that I truly miss.
The first election I was allowed to vote in was the 2012 election between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. It was a simpler time, but many traditions still apply to 2016 and I am sad to be left out.
