‘Urgent inquiry’ ordered after 29st silverback gorilla escaped London Zoo enclosure
 

Experts have ordered an ‘urgent inquiry’ into how a 29st silverback gorilla escaped from its London Zoo enclosure last night.
Armed police were called to the scene at around 5pm following reports that the zoo’s alpha male, Kumbuka, had gotten out of his £5million section, which was opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 2007.
According to the Evening Standard, the animal escaped through an open door. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
When the zoo were asked about the open-door theory this morning, a spokeswoman said: ‘It’s not been confirmed how it happened yet.’
