University ‘chav’ night is cancelled for ‘oppressing’ working class students



A university cheerleading team called down the wrath of right-on students with a proposed ‘chav’ night.
Naturally, the student union’s equality office waded in, saying that the event, ‘perpetuates oppression towards students from working class backgrounds’.
The group’s protest that the organisers were themselves working class cut no ice, according to The Tab.
Hannah Dualeh of the union said it was ‘demonising of caricatures,’ and ‘classist and horrible’.
The cheerleaders did the only thing they could – and rebranded it, ‘Comfortable tracksuit bottoms and jumper night.
