UK Government signs Navy up to capture 'empty' vessels in EU war on migrant smuggling
 

And the strategy will see thousands of UK operatives work with EU coallition seamen to target vessels to prevent them from packing their boats full of migrants.
In the last year 300 boats have been captured by forces and 90 suspected smugglers have been apprehended while thousands of people have drowned while trying to make the treacherous journey.
Now the Government has committed British forces to Operation Sophia until October 2018 in a bid to try to tackle the crisis at its core, says UN permanent representative Matthew Rycroft.
