UK construction growth falls to 12-month low as commercial and civil engineering markets slow



Growth in the UK's construction sector slowed to a 12-month low in August, dragged down by sluggish activity in the commercial and civil engineering markets.
With output slowing, the Markit/CIPS purchasing managers' index came in at 51.1 in August, down from July's 51.9 in July. A reading of 50 or above indicates growth.
While the residential construction market remains 'robust', the amount of new work coming in the sector as a whole slowed for the second month in a row in August.
