Two rescued from rocks after their boat stranded in mouth of Tyne
 

Two people were rescued from the rocks after their boat got stranded in mouth of the River Tyne.
The Coastguard called the Brigade and Tynemouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat at 1.48pm on Sunday after receiving reports a small rigid-inflatable boat had been washed ashore on the Black Midden Rocks.
The crew arrived at the scene to find two people who were in the boat had managed to reach the rocks and were safe.
They had been trying to move their boat to higher ground after fearing the conditions were too dangerous to go back out to sea.
